OUR STORY | Tom & Jessica Arnold own and operate a diversified livestock farm on 460 acres in the Driftless Region of Illinois near Elizabeth in beautiful Jo Daviess County. Along with their three children, they are the 4th and 5th generations living on land that Tom’s ancestors started farming in 1886. In 1990, Tom and Jessica purchased the farm from Tom’s mother. Having grown up on the property, Tom was familiar with the skills needed to raise livestock and their feed. Four years of experience working for a food distributor in San Diego, CA, gave him insight into retail sales and distribution. Capitalizing on that knowledge, he and Jessica developed a direct-to-consumer meat sales business as a means of adding value to marketing their livestock. In addition to a farrow-to-finish hog enterprise, the Arnolds raise beef on a pasture-based system and grow corn, oats, and alfalfa/grass hay. |
